Adjust your routine for the fall

27 September 2024|Lifestyle

Summer isn't the time for strict schedules; it's more about endless hanging out, BBQs, and chilling at the beach. Whether you have kids or not, the back-to-school season is an ideal moment for a reset and a new routine.

The colder, windier weather also calls for tweaks in your workouts and eating habits. However you approach it, we always recommend starting with small changes that seamlessly fit into your routine. That way, you'll stick with them longer. We're here to help you get started with these 6 tips.

1. Find a gym with a sauna

Hanging out in a sauna has numerous health benefits, including boosting your immune system, deepening your breathing, and ultimate relaxation. Nothing beats the warmth of a sauna between two downpours this season.

2. Convince your buddy and work out together

Whether you hit the gym or play Padel, planning to go together is the perfect motivation. If you're not in the mood, your buddy will pep you up, and vice versa. You'll find yourself going more often because of that. Also fun: take on a challenge together.

3. Prep your fave meals (with the help of Orangefit recipes)

During fall, you might have a bit less energy. There's a good chance that after work, you'd rather crash on your couch than assemble a rainbow bowl. You can prevent this by prepping healthy meals, so you always have a couple ready in the fridge. Switch to warm breakfasts with cinnamon and other fall toppings, prep them beforehand, and it'll reduce your morning stress. Check out our recipes on the website for inspiration.

4. Schedule your workouts

Block some time in your calendar for workouts, and treat them like work meetings you can't miss. Don't plan too many sessions right away. Start with two sessions in the first week and eventually work your way up to four workouts.

5. Adjust your supplements

The days are getting shorter and colder, your drinks are getting warmer... Time to adjust your supplements. Besides your protein shake or diet shake, take a scoop of Orangefit Greens every day. This way, you'll keep your resistance in top shape, and hopefully, this flu season won't catch up with you. Also, it wouldn't hurt to take extra Vitamin D3 and Vitamin C.

6. Expand your home gym

Hang your punching bag again, invest in pull-up bars and a dip station, and dust off your yoga mat. We still love outdoor activities, but a home gym makes it super easy to get your daily exercise, especially when all the rain alarms are going off.

7. Make the most of the autumn weather

If you're a fan of the woods, check if there's a forest nearby with climbing racks or calisthenics equipment. Or go for a run: wind and uneven terrain make you a bit more unstable, which actually encourages your muscles to work harder.

Bottom line

Fall is an excellent season to get back on track. Embrace the cool, windy, and introverted nature of this season to adjust your routine, so you feel great and fit every day.
